Job Descriptions

  • The M&E Officer will support the State Team Lead in tracking implementation progress and results at state level.
  • The M&E Officer will provide technical leadership for state-level M&E activities and maintain regular communication with state-level partners to offer data-requirement support.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the preparation of tables, charts and figures for internal and external publications.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Carry out all other tasks to support monitoring, assessments and researches in project sites.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct M&E program monitoring and evaluation tasks, including the implementation of M&E systems (data collection, dataflow management, data management and results reporting).
  • Participate in the training of staff/partners and consultants in M&E data collection and processing.Support organisation of M&E review meetings at state level.
  • Support the development of work plans and budget for M&E activities.
  • Provide technical support to state partners and enumerators to strengthen monitoring system and track project deliverables.
Job Requirements
  • Well-organized, with ability to track multiple project activities and deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to work successfully in a team-based environment
  • Experience with database management and tablet technology for monitoring purposes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Numerical Sciences or Development Science with 5-9 years work experience in monitoring and evaluation of education programs.
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Working knowledge of data processing computer packages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and working knowledge of the Hausa Language.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in terms of reporting.
  • Computer software and internet skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • The ability to speak Hausa language is an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel in Nigeria minimum of 25%.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of reading & literacy programs in Northern Nigeria.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding formative learning processes.
  • Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain good working report with staff and other project partners.
